Carlee Russell — who is a 25-year-old woman from Alabama — was reported missing on Thursday night.
Post missing for 48 hours, Carlee has finally returned home. Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis affirmed that Russell showed up at her parent’s house alone. She was later taken to a hospital for further evaluation by the paramedics.
Carlee Russell Reports An Unattended Child On Interstate
Carlee Russell told a 911 Dispatcher on Thursday night that there was a toddler walking along the side of an interstate in Hoover, about eight miles south of Birmingham.
She added that she would pull over to help the toddler. Shortly after making the calls, she has been missing and was not seen again until late Saturday.
Family members of Carlee Russel said that the she was returning home from work Thursday night.
She was picking up dinner for her mom and herself from the Colonnade when she spotted a young unattended child on Interstate 459.
She stopped to help the toddler. Russell was on the phone with her brother’s girlfriend who reported that she heard her asking the child, ‘Are you OK?’ But never heard the child say anything and only heard Carlee scream and then only heard the noise of interstate traffic.
Where Is Carlee Russell Now?
Officers who were en route to the location of the 911 Call located her vehicle. They also found her Russell’s wig, cell phone, purse and Apple Watch nearby.
But there was no sign of Carlee and the kid anywhere. The police further added that they have not received a report of a missing child but had obtained traffic camera footage. The footage is being currently analyzed.
Has Carlee Russell Found?
Carlee Russell showed up at her family’s front door and knocked on the door. She was greeted by her stunned family and her near and dear ones.
Nobody was with her when she arrived. She was taken to a hospital for an evaluation but nobody knows as yet where Russel has been for the last two days. But the police have taken a statement from her that is currently a part of the investigations.
The Hoover Police Department’s 911 centre received a call around 10:44 p.m. local time on Saturday. The caller said that Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell had returned home on foot. She was checked by Hoover Fire Department medics before being taken to the UAB Hospital for evaluation but was later released.
The Hoover Police have as yet not been able to confirm whether there was a child on the highway. They further added that Carlee’s 911 call is the only report of a child on the interstate. This was revealed by Hoover police in a statement.
Carlee Russell’s return ended the statewide search that had captured national attention. Speculation about what might have happened before her disappearance was the source of discussion everywhere. But as yet the circumstances of her sudden vanishing remained unclear on Sunday.
But there have been claims about seeing a Grey vehicle with a light-complexioned male standing outside of (Russell’s) vehicle.
But as yet there is no confirmation if Carlee was abducted. The Hoover Police Department also has been able to confirm or deny if Carlee was abducted.
Talitha Russell, the mother of Carlee Russell has not responded to interview requests. But she shared a statement on Facebook that they wanted privacy to allow t to just love on their daughter and each other with their family and near and dear ones.
